About Pam

“I have had the opportunity of working with Pam in a wide variety of roles. She continues to be a proven leader in Dunwoody and the State of Georgia. Metro Atlanta propels into the 21st Century, Dunwoody has seen a boom of growth with the additions of Mercedes Benz, State Farm, and new infrastructure improvement efforts on Georgia-400. With her Pro-Business mindset and a heart for education, I am confident that Pam is the right person to continue Dunwoody’s upward trajectory, and I wholeheartedly endorse her reelection to Dunwoody City Council District 1 Post 1.”  –  Lt. Governor Casey Cagle

“No one has done more to support our community and schools in the last decade than Pam and I certainly believe she is the right person to represent the citizens of District 1.”  –  Senator Fran Millar

“Eight years ago, as Mayor of Dunwoody and Past President of The Dunwoody Homeowners Association, I was honored to deliver the Citizen of the Year award to Pam Tallmadge. At that time, I called her “Dunwoody’s Wonder Woman” as I was in awe at the seemingly endless depth of her volunteer and leadership efforts for and around our community. Eight years after giving that honor to Pam, she is still in full swing as Dunwoody’s Wonder Woman. Dunwoody is truly blessed to have her time and talents.”  –  Ken Wright, Founding Mayor of Dunwoody

“Pam has created an impressive list of accomplishments in a very short tenure. She has done an amazing job.”  –  Rusty Paul, Mayor of Sandy Springs

City Council: District 1 Post 1

I continue serving Dunwoody as a member of City Council because I like to be part of the team that continues positive changes Dunwoody has enjoyed since the city was formed in 2008. I believe the city and its citizens are going to face significant growth over the next few years and I enjoy working with council and staff that brings fresh ideas, based on your input, in managing the growth for the betterment of the city. Together, we can continue to have “the Dunwoody” that that we have all come to love and also manage the expected growth that is happening. I am pro-business. I strengthen and encourage small business growth. Small business is what the country, the state and Dunwoody is built on. We are a community of small businesses and we need to develop an environment that gives business owners and entrepreneurs the desire to have their business located in Dunwoody. This starts with a great school system, good infrastructure (roads), a safe place for their family and employees and a public park system that everyone wants to go to and use.

I will continue to build strong relations with the DeKalb County School System. My experience working within the DeKalb county School System lends great insight into how a school system works to benefit all of the citizens. From my work in bringing Peachtree Charter Middle School to Charter status, to most recently, as Chair of the Education & Workforce Development Committee for the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce I will continue to work to see that our city offers the best public school system in the state.

My background is one of volunteering – from Co-Chairing the July 4th parade (with a lot of assistance from the citizens of Dunwoody – thank you Citizens), member of the DHA, Dunwoody UMC Chancel Choir and Chamber Choir, Dunwoody UMC Drama Ministries, Chair of the Education & Workforce Development Committee for the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce, and Dunwoody High School Community Association Board Member (Treasurer), along with the Game On Campaign, all this gives me a vested interested in Dunwoody.

From a personal standpoint, my husband, Keith, and I chose to buy a home here in Dunwoody 27 years ago to raise our three boys. I am a Dunwoody High School Graduate (class of 1975 – first graduating class of the school). Currently, I work in the City as an Executive Assistant-Charter System Foundation. My past employers, outside of my work for the DeKalb County School system as a substitute teacher and as the Co-Director of the DeKalb County Public Schools Foundation, were for small business employers. So, I understand the issues a small employer faces every day in delivering a service or product to the community.
